Okay, so I got distracted after GG. So sue me.
I liked it, incidentally. I haven’t liked some of them this season, but this one was good. I couldn’t get excited about the Dean comforting Rory action (and for ONCE in their LIVES the promos didn’t completely lie), ’cause I know Dean is history, dude, but the Luke comforting Lorelai scene? *sigh* I wish I could screencap him holding her like he did. Was precious.
Still don’t like Jason.
In other news, Kirk’s visit was so much fun! It mostly revolved around food, which is not a bad thing.
We ate gelato, walked around Temple Square, took TRAX over to the Gateway and got white hot chocolate from European Connection, went to the Clark Planetarium, and just basically goofed around downtown until about 4, when Lilac’s kids got cranky (but they were still cute!). Then I took Kirk out to my place, and we ended up getting in the car again and checking out Wahleecon venues.
Kirk was impressed with Jordan Commons, which is always a good sign. We went to dinner at Tio’s, chilled at my house for a while, and then I drove him to the airport. Was sad to see him go.
But June is closer than it seems! Is only 15 weekends away.
Oh, and Kirk, it might interest you to know that we got a lot of wind today, which pretty much blew out the inversion. You can see both sets of mountains now.
I called the BYU payroll office today, because I still haven’t recieved my W-2 from them. I’ve gotten them from Deseret Book and the state, so I was waiting on BYU to do my taxes and get my REFUND!!! Turns out they sent it to my old apartment address, even though I changed my mailing address to home before I even graduated. Idiots. Anyway, one of my former roommates sent it back to them, so they had it. I gave them my correct address, and they sent it out. Must. Get. Money.
I’ve got my job interview tomorrow, and then Kate and I are going out to lunch, and I think Jen is coming too. I’ll post after lunch and let you know how it went.
Must sleep now.

President Faust was *awesome,* I couldn’t sing at all, but I don’t think it was *too* noticable. Dad’s arrangement of “Come Unto Jesus” was a hit. President Faust didn’t get time to say much– the first three speakers went waaaaay over time– but what he *did* say was awesome, and he had the greatest spirit about him. So neat.
Sink me! We got some great news yesterday. The Scarlet Pimpernel, starring Anthony Andrews, Jane Seymour, and Ian McKellen, will be coming out on DVD on February 24! Whoot! It’s been out of print for years on VHS– copies on eBay were going for as much as $80. It was issued on DVD in Britain a little while ago, but (of course) we couldn’t play it on our DVD player, ’cause it’s not region-free. Stupid regions. I knew who Ian McKellen was much before LotR and X-Men made him a star because of this show. We called him Spockton, because he looks like a cross between John Stockton and Spock. Heh. Anyway, for all of you who have seen it, I’m sure you’ll share in my excitement. For all of you who haven’t, what are you waiting for? Order it from Amazon. NOW.
I’ll be away from my computer almost all day today, which is definitely odd for me as of late. Kirk flew up from Vegas for the day, and he and Lilac and I are going to play. Whoot!
Gotta go get ready. See you later!

We got some *really* cool news today.
James E. Faust, Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is coming to our Stake Conference.
I’m singing in the choir. My dad arranged one of our songs.
I’m nervous, but excited.
I’ll let you know all about it tomorrow.
Yay!

Had a sudden desire to make a P&P LJ mood theme. You can see the results.
I’ve got all the base moods done, but must do the more specialized ones. I’m making the screencaps myself, you see. I’ve got lots of ideas for them, though.
I love having the time to do frivilous things like this.

I just got a call from Western Governor’s University, which is where I interviewed a little while back, and where (I thought) they gave the job to someone else. Well, either that person didn’t work out or they’ve got another opening, because they want me to come back for another interview. Wednesday, noon.
I wouldn’t mind not having to do the job search thing again, no, not at all. And then I’d be working with Kate, which would ROX.
*crosses fingers*

Don’t have much time, but I love my teachers, especially:
Miss Shepherd (fourth grade), who was just. So. Cool. She taught me the alphabet in sign language, she got me interested in French, and above all, she loved me and encouraged me.
Mr. McConnell (eighth grade science), who made science fun. And wore ties with shorts. And red SOX. Every day.
Mr. Wood (sophmore Honors English, AP US History), who, despite being the scariest person on the planet, taught me how to write essays, how to scan a poem, how to write a research paper, and how to enjoy history. Oh, and for telling me that I will be okay. Often. Whenever I freaked out. And introducing me to Harold and Maude. Heh.
Ms. Wolking (junior Honors English, Creative Writing, Literary Magazine advisor), who taught me to embrace my inner transcendentalist, to associate the smell of coffee with creativity, and above all, to think of myself as a writer.
Dr. Walker (Bible as Literature, Christian Fantasy), for broadening my horizons, believing in me, giving me a chance, encouraging me, and, above all, caring about me.

Got an update on my aunt. She’s had a couple of EKG’s and some blood tests, but nothing conclusive. She’ll have a stress test at some point today. Her blood sugar was good this morning, though (she’s got diabetes), so that’s something. They think she’ll have to stay another night. *sigh*
Now for the BBC top 200 books meme. Bold are ones I’ve read, comments are in italics:

didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. I figured I’d spend most of the day source checking, watch Gilmore Girls this evening, and then finish source checking and be done with the project FOREVER.
It started out okay– I was source checking until about 3:30– had almost finished Galatians– when I got a phone call that my aunt was in the hospital, and they would be admitting her. My mom was at the doctor with my sister, and it took a while for me to get a hold of her. We found out that she’d had chest pains at work and had driven herself to the emergency room. They told her that it wasn’t a heart attack, but probably would have become one in a couple of days. Scary stuff. They’re keeping her overnight for observation.
In any case, Mom decided that she needed to go over to the hosptial, which meant that I needed to take my sister back to Provo. I ended up having dinner with them and just got back. Missed Gilmore Girls, although we’ve got it recorded. I’ll have to see it tomorrow.
And finish my source checking.
Working from home sounds nice, but there are too many interruptions.

I dreamed about Orlando Bloom last night. Mmmm. And Peter Jackson, actually. It was a very good dream.
It started out with me and Jen at some kind of fantasy convention, and Orlando was working the crowd. He stopped and chatted with us for quite a while. I didn’t have my camera with me, so I asked him if I could get a picture with him the next day, and he said absolutely, he’d keep an eye out for me. I was thrilled.
Then the dream changed a little bit. Jen and I went back to where we were staying, which was the house I lived in when I was five. The Olympics were going on here in Salt Lake, and we were participating in some kind of program where you got to be in a celebrity’s group for them. We were in Peter Jackson’s group, which was cool enough, but he decided to take us up the canyon to where they were filming a new movie with Orlando. It looked a lot like Lothlorien, actually.
Anyway, we all stood to the side while what I’m assuming is the second unit finished filming a scene in a small pond. Orlando was in it, shirtless (I think this dream is Angua’s fault, for showing me all those shirtless pics of Orlando yesterday), and after filming was over he came to the edge of the pond and talked with all of us in the group (which now included Angua, strangely enough). He spent extra time with me, because he recognized me from the convention earlier, and we spent a few seconds looking deeply into each others’ eyes.
As he made his way through our group another one of the girls kissed him suddenly, and he said “thank you,” which made me wish that I had done it.
The dream went on for a bit, with different behind-the-scenes people from the movie chatting with us, but Orlando didn’t show up again before I woke up.
Still, not a bad way to start off the morning.
Okay, done with silliness. On to source checking.
