Especially those who own the SOUNDTRAX. :D

You know and I know that whoever named the TRAX on the CD was smoking CRAX or something, because the names have absolutely nothing to do with where the TRAX came in the movie. Well, after 9 viewings and innumerable listenings, I think I’ve finally figured out where most of the TRAX come in the movie. But I’m not sure of a couple of parts, and I’d like your opinions, to double-CHEX my WORX (or WUX), as it were. Original titles are struck out if I felt the need to change them. Correct titles are in bold. My comments follow. So here we go:

Hidden for spoilers.

  1. Fog Bound The first part, which is usually Jack’s michevious music, is not at the beginning of the movie, but I can’t pinpoint an exact place where it does come, so we’ll just leave this title the way it is. The rest of the music does come from the flashback/dream sequence.
  2. The Medallion Calls Captain Jack Sparrow The end of the last TRAX and the beginning of this TRAX are from Will’s “At least once more, Miss Swann” speech, and then goes directly into Jack’s entrance on the Jolly Mon.
  3. The Black Pearl The Worst Pirate This TRAX starts with Jack’s threatening of Elizabeth, the “easy on the goods” speech, and Jack’s attempted escape.)
  4. Will and Elizabeth Crossing Blades The dueling scene. Almost called “Pirate!,” but I changed my mind. :D
  5. Swords Crossed Ghost Stories This is the scene on The Black Pearl where Barbossa tells Elizabeth about the curse, and the subsequent encounters with the skeletal (as opposed to a skelton) crew. :P
  6. Walk the Plank Madness or Brilliance I have no clue what the first part of this TRAX is from–it could be one of any number of places–but starting at Jack’s michevious music, it’s Jack and Will’s underwater walk, up until Will’s “Aye, avast!” line.
  7. Barbossa is Hungry This is the music while The Black Pearl is chasing down Interceptor, and the first part of the battle. The name was actually relatively appropriate this time, so I kept it.
  8. Blood Ritual Bootstrap’s Bootstraps/The Best Pirate The first part of this TRAX is the scene where Will hears what happened to his father. The second part is Norrington’s attempt to recover Dauntless, losing Interceptor in the process. “Thank you, Commodore, for getting us ready to make way! We’d have had a hard time of it by ourselves.”
  9. Moonlight Serenade/Something Incredibly Stupid (Second part of the name is mine.) The first part of this track is during Elizabeth and Jack’s conversation on the beach, starting when he says “I know just what you mean, darling.” and curls his mustache a bit more. The second part of the track is the beginning of the final battle in the cave, when Jack throws Will the sword.
  10. To the Pirates’ Cave! Pirates Attack/The Opportune Moment This is a weird TRAX. The first part continues the final battle, as the movie cuts back and forth between the battle on Dauntless and in the cave, up until the moment that Jack stabs Barbossa and Barbossa then stabs Jack. It then cuts to the slow touchy-feely music, that might be when Elizabeth is trying to convince Jack’s crew to help her rescue Will, OR, it might be when Will and Elizabeth are talking on Interceptor. Or it might be something completely unrelated to the two.
  11. Skull and Crossbones The Opportune Moment More of the final battle, including “What’s it to be, Jack? Shall we be two immortals, battling each other till judgement day and trumpets sound? Hmm?” “Or you could surrender,” “You like pain? Try wearing a corset”, “Who’s side is Jack on?” “At the moment? *shrugs*” , “Ten years you carry that pistol and now you waste your shot”, “He didn’t waste it,” “I feel. . .cold.”
  12. Bootstrap’s Bootstraps Skeltons and Swords Another weird TRAX, as it goes BAX in time and is still part of the cave/Dauntless battle.
  13. Underwater March The Curse is Broken/Will and Elizabeth This is the WEIRDEST TRAX on the disc. It starts with the moment the pirates realize the curse is broken, continues with “Gentlemen, the ship is ours,” and Governor Swann cheering. Then I think it’s the moment that Will and Elizabeth are talking in the cave while Jack is throwing stuff around. But then it goes BAX in time to some more dark pirate music, and I have no idea where it fits in. Help?
  14. One Last Shot He’s a Pirate This track starts where Will says “It’s right here, between you and Jack,” continues with “It never would have worked between us, darling. I’m sorry,” “Perhaps when the right course requires an act of piracy, piracy itself can be the right course,” “I expect the man who made it to show the same care and devotion in every aspect of his life,” “I think we can give him one day’s headstart,” “After all, he is a blacksmith,” “No, he’s a pirate” “Captain Sparrow– The Black Pearl is yours,” “Now bring me that horizon. . .da da da da da da da da da da da da. . .and really bad eggs, drink up me hearties yo ho!”
  15. He’s a Pirate It’s Over? NOOOooooo! The first part of the ending credits.

Hee. Now I want to see it again. :D
