November 6th, 2002 · No Comments

I just added two more pics that, for some reason, didn’t get scanned
last night. I had to scan a photo for my Computers and the Humanities
class anyway, so I figured I might as well do these ones. :)

Here we are. Pictures!
I have an awesome family. Thanks for scanning them, Ben and Dad. :)
They’re only hosted on Yahoo! for now, until I set up my site on Ben’s
server. Which I really am hoping to do soon. :)
So, what do you think?

Guess what I’m holding in

November 4th, 2002 · No Comments

Guess what I’m holding in my hot little hand? PICTURES!!!
Now I have to get them scanned. Dad, if I was to send them home with
Lisa and Laura, could you figure out a way to get them scanned and onto
a CD-R? Please? Who’s your favorite daughter, after all? :)

I dropped my pics off

November 4th, 2002 · No Comments

I dropped my pics off today. I’ll get them by tomorrow– now it’s just
a question of getting them scanned. Which, of course, is going to be
more complicated than it should be. The only scanners I can get my
hands on are attatched to Macs with Zip drives. I own a PC without a
Zip drive. I do have 2 Mac Zip disks to save my homework on, but I
don’t think Mac Zips work on PC’s. Grr. . .
Maybe I’ll just upload them to Yahoo from the Mac Lab and then download
them again from home. Hmm. . .

Yay! Elizabeth now has a blog of her own:
Much Ado About
Nothing

Leave it to Elizabeth to pick a Shakespearian name. :)
And don’t worry about getting everything working, Lou. With Wolf on
your side, anything is possible. I’ve learned that. :)
It’s when Wolf’s not on your side that you get into trouble. . .

Interesting, a religious Friday Five!

November 1st, 2002 · No Comments

Interesting, a religious Friday
Five
! I can’t resist. :)
1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith?
Yes, I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
2. Do you still practice that faith? Why or why not?
Yes, I do. I practice it because I know it’s true. I’ve experienced too
much to ever doubt it.
3. What do you think happens after death?
Oh, yikes. Don’t ask a Mormon this if you don’t have a while. To put it
very, very briefly, when we die will all go to the Spirit World to
await resurrection– after resurrection, everyone will inherit a degree
of glory, except for the Sons of Perdition, who go to outer darkness.
Most of us won’t have to worry about the Sons of Perdition thing. You
have to be really, really, good in order to go that bad.
4. What is your favorite religious ritual (participating in or just
observing)?

Oh, that’s tough. I’d have to say that I loved going through
the temple– it was wonderful, and peaceful. But I think I’m going to
have to say I like taking the sacrament every week. A weekly renewal of
covenants– a new beginning. And a chance to sit quietly and think
about the Savior.
5. Do you believe people are basically good?
Yes. And no. I believe that we all have the Light of Christ, which
guides us to do good. On the other hand, when Adam fell, men fell– and
became an enemy to God. Part of what we’re here for is to overcome
man’s natural tendency to evil. We’re striving to be something better
than what we are.

Well, after much throwing things,

October 31st, 2002 · No Comments

Well, after much throwing things, kicking, screaming and yelling, the
costumes are done. We wore them to the Halloween party last night. Let
me tell you, we were shafted. We didn’t win Best Costume. Instead, some
guy who taped some bubble wrap together, stuffed it with balloons, and
stapled some paper together and called himself a gumball machine won.
Ridiculous. Quite a few people came up to us afterward and told us we
should have won. It was fun talking in English accents, though. :)
Not many people at BYU dress up for Halloween, so I feel rather
conspicuous walking around campus. I don’t care, though. It’s better
than having no one look at me at all, which is what usually happens.
My brother came over last night while we were finishing up. Now he
wishes that he’d done the same thing. So we’re going to help him get a
Slytherin costume together for the 15th. :) Now we’ll have one person
from each house in our family. I think it was the wands that really
made him want to do it.
Pics coming soon. I have to get my film developed first. :)

I don’t know how I

October 30th, 2002 · No Comments

I don’t know how I managed to do it, with all the things I’ve had to do
the past few days, but I’ve written the first few paragraphs of my
Sirius story. Actually, I do know how I managed to do it. I tuned out
my Literature of the Great War class and wrote. :)
Already, it has taken a different direction than I originally intended.
But, since my original intention was none-too-detailed, this is not
necessarily a bad thing. And in fact, my original intention still fits
in quite well with what is happening in the story, so it’s not like
I’ve radically changed it at all. Instead, there’s just a little more
plot than before.
Which is to say that it might actually have one. But I can’t tell for
sure yet. :)

My scarf is done. :)

October 28th, 2002 · No Comments

My scarf is done. :)
Now all I have to do is my tie and my robe. I will probably be able to
get the tie done tonight. The robe will have to wait until tomorrow.
I’m cutting it very close, aren’t I?
You’ll notice two new blog links: Confessions of a Little Twin
and Confessions of a Tall Twin. They’re my sisters’ blogs,
Lisa’s and Laura’s, respectively. There’s not much there at the moment,
because I haven’t had time to help them with HTML (not that I can do
all that much, anyway. I know both their templates are horrible as far
as HTML goes, but unfortunately I have neither the time nor the
expertise to fix them), and I haven’t had time to research different
comment options. Ennetation does seem to be more reliable at the moment
than it has been in the past, but of course I much prefer YACCS, which
isn’t taking new users. Are there any other options?
Anyway, I thought I’d link to them. They’ll probably be a lot better
starting in November, when I have time to actually help them.
