Got a 750 on Verbal section. 630 on Quantitative.
Am pleased. Am also glad it’s OVER. Don’t know how I did on Analytical Writing section, as will not be scored for 3 weeks.
Oh, before I forget,
Happy birthday, Mellie!!!!!!
May your birthday be filled with wonderful things and lots of REST.

Taking the GRE tomorrow. That is, if the center isn’t closed because of snow. We’ve had more than 2 feet. Deseret Book closed early today, so I got more time to study.
I hope I do well.
Got hilarious card from today. Hilarious and extremely appropriate for her.
Got other cards lately too, but can’t remember who from, and am too tired to go chex. Will do so tomorrow. After GRE.

I’m sitting amidst a pile of wonderful stuff.
First off, the clothes. I got a new red sweater, green pants, a cute shortish black skirt with red flowers and a black blouse to go with it, and a lovely red velvet dress. Books include Shepherds Abiding (the newest Mitford book) and The Black Moth by Georgette Heyer, which is the only one that’s currently in print that I both don’t own and haven’t read. Also got Coconut Lime Verbena salt scrub from Bath and Body Works, a really really cool black leather refillable journal which has a celtic knot pattern embossed on it, the Pride and Prejudice: a Latter-day Comedy soundtrack, the FotR soundtrack, a TTT day-by-day calendar, gift certificates to Hot Dog on a Stick, and a CD of an old record by the Limelighters that my dad listened to growing up and passed on to us. I finally got to open the sparkly present that Lou sent me ages ago, and to my utter delight it contained a Harry Potter chess set! Whoot! It looks just like the one in SS.
Three presents which are coming but which I didn’t get today are the new Real Group Christmas CD which accidentally got sent to Michigan and therefore didn’t arrive in time, a set of pocket-sized editions of Jane Austen’s collected works which my mom bought ages ago but now can’t find, and a black wool cloak which is not finished yet. But just knowing that those presents are on the horizon makes me happy.
Plus it snowed overnight, so we have a light dusting our there. Heading up to Grandma’s this afternoon for more presents and Christmas fun.
Hope you all have a great day. I’m going to read Heyer now.

I’m dead. From overworking and undersleeping. And overstressing. GRE on Saturday.
I’m gonna die.
Perhaps will have recovered by Christmas.
Perhaps.

I was just about to make a batch of these for my Primary kids, and I remembered that I promised Liralen the recipe. So, here it is:
Molasses Sugar Cookies
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinammon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda (no, this is not a typo. You really do need two.)
Mix shortening, sugar, and molasses. Add egg and beat well. Mix dry ingredients and add them gradually, mixing well. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
I usually double this recipe, as 1) It doesn’t really make that many cookies, and 2) The dough is so good that it usually makes even less.
Enjoy.

Just as awesome the second time.
I heart Sam. I heart Farmair. I heart Pippin. I heart Legolas. I heart Gimli. I heart Gandalf. I heart Eowyn. I heart Frodo.
Heck, I heart everyone. Except for Gollum. I want to throttle him. And maybe Denethor.
But everyone else has my undying admiration.
Including Andy Serkis, for making Gollum such a believable character that I didn’t start to hate him until this movie.
I want to see it again.

Lots of good things happened today!
- I got my TLC shirt, complete with a message from Mellie and Megan on the back of the envelope! I felt so special.
- More cards! So far I’ve gotten them from , , , , , , , and . I don’t think I forgot anyone.
even included a Sexy Elf Boy and Gimli bookmark! Thank you, Kirk!!!
- I got called into work, so I got a bit more cash coming in. Was fun to hear my manager complain as much as the rest of us. I don’t blame him for the problems we’ve been having. It’s coming from higher up.
- After work, I went shopping, and ran into my creative writing teacher from high school. She was one of my favorite teachers, and I haven’t seen her in a long time, so that was a lot of fun.
- Went down to B. Dalton, which is going out of business, and therefore is selling all its stock at 40% off. Got lots of good deals.
- Got to talk to , which always makes a day good.
Hmm. Is that it? Yeah, I guess so. I’m still on a high from RotK. Can’t wait to see it again tomorrow night.
Now I need to study for the GRE, though.
