A tangled mess.

August 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

That is what I have managed to make out of my 100% hemp yarn. That’s what I get for thinking that I could wind it into a ball without the aid of a swift or even a chair back. It will probably take an hour to untangle. Joy. It’s a pretty color, though. A very […]

Random Thoughts (with a few actual updates stuck in here and there)

June 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

It’s a slow day at work. I find it rather– ironic that now, where I’m working somewhere that updating my journal from work would be perfectly acceptable, I hardly ever do it. But when I was working somewhere where doing such a thing would be frowned upon, I did it all the time. Anyway. I’m […]

The promised update

February 25th, 2007 · No Comments

Okay. Let’s see. I think I’m going to break this down into categories for ease of organization and such. 1) School: Pretty much the same. What with starting a new job and still being quite exhausted, not much progress has been made on the thesis. But things are looking up for this week. I’m determined […]

Thanks. :)

December 2nd, 2006 · No Comments

Well, it’s over. I’ve spent most of the day veging, celebrating the accomplishment of one of the steps necessary to get my PhD. Thanks so much for all of your good wishes. I didn’t get to read them until after I took the test, but I knew that they were there waiting for me to […]

I’m nervous.

December 1st, 2006 · No Comments

Why am I nervous? Because I’m taking the GRE Literature Subject Test tomorrow, that’s why! And it’s up on the University of Utah campus, which I don’t know AT ALL, and I’m so freaked out about parking regulations up there (the longer I looked, the more confused I got) that I decided to take the […]

BYU WINS!!! BYU WINS!! BYU WINS!!

November 25th, 2006 · No Comments

For the first time in 5 years, BYU beat Utah! In a last-minute (literally, we had 3 seconds left to run our last play) come-from-behind waaaaay-too-close-for comfort touchdown pass, BYU BEAT UTAH, 33-31. I’m so happy, I could cry.

*sigh*

November 6th, 2006 · 1 Comment

Not going to London. I’m not too extremely disappointed, as I made it a point not to get my hopes up. But still. Yet another instance of “you’re good, but not good enough.” I’m getting really sick of this.

New developments

October 25th, 2006 · No Comments

With taking the lit GRE on December 5 (luckily they had space for me at the Salt Lake testing center, so I don’t have to drive to Cedar City) and continued writer’s block– December graduation is not happening. So I was aiming for April instead, until– the graduate secretary sent an e-mail around listing the […]

Nothing much to report.

October 13th, 2006 · No Comments

I will anyway, though, I guess. The gist of the matter is that I’m buried under schoolwork (both thesis and assignments from class), still suffering from the writers block that has plagued me for the past, oh, year and a half, praying I’ll get everything done in order to actually graduate in December, and seriously […]

Doing much better. . .

September 14th, 2006 · No Comments

Thanks to all for the good advice! I’ve been doing much better the last couple of days. Although I’m still hungry sometimes, it’s not overwhelming, and I’ve been better at budgeting my points so that I have a few left over at the end of the day for when I inevitably get munchy. Although last […]
