Don’t have much time, but I love my teachers, especially:
Miss Shepherd (fourth grade), who was just. So. Cool. She taught me the alphabet in sign language, she got me interested in French, and above all, she loved me and encouraged me.
Mr. McConnell (eighth grade science), who made science fun. And wore ties with shorts. And red SOX. Every day.
Mr. Wood (sophmore Honors English, AP US History), who, despite being the scariest person on the planet, taught me how to write essays, how to scan a poem, how to write a research paper, and how to enjoy history. Oh, and for telling me that I will be okay. Often. Whenever I freaked out. And introducing me to Harold and Maude. Heh.
Ms. Wolking (junior Honors English, Creative Writing, Literary Magazine advisor), who taught me to embrace my inner transcendentalist, to associate the smell of coffee with creativity, and above all, to think of myself as a writer.
Dr. Walker (Bible as Literature, Christian Fantasy), for broadening my horizons, believing in me, giving me a chance, encouraging me, and, above all, caring about me.
