Commander Shelby was definitely way up on my list, There is also Admiral Nechayev, who seems to love Cardassians, and her counterpart in Chain of Command, Captian Jellico (I really don’t like him). He might be my number 1!

Hey, have you noticed that this little comment window correctly uses small caps for numbers? After reading my Typsetting book, I was astonished to find that numbers should be lower case. And did you further know … that these numbers 1890 are correctly typset? I am all astonished!

Yes, Dad– I was quite pleased with the default font MT chose for that very reason– it has lowercase numbers. I used to think lowercase numbers were weird, but now I like them a lot. Except I need to come up with a new font for my subject lines, because the numbers *should* be in uppercase in a heading.
It took me *forever* to come up with a Star Trek character that bugged me. Unlike most people, Wesley didn’t ever bug me, and I don’t see why he does (bug people, that is). And I like all of the main characters. So that meant I had to search for a guest character, and Shelby was the first one to come to mind, although those awful Admirals could be pretty high on the list. For a while I couldn’t remember her name, though– I had to look it up.

I guess that the reason that Wesley didn’t bug me is because he is what I had always hoped to be. The really smart, ahead of his peers technically, nerd type. I identified with him, althought I wasn’t anywhere near that smart at his tender age. So how could I hate what I essentially was?
