Crunch Time

April 2nd, 2003 · 6 Comments

In less than a month, my undergraduate college career will be over. In the next 3 weeks, I have two 8 to 10-page research papers due. I also need to at least make a pretense of studying for my Floral Design and Pearl of Great Price finals, practice my dances for my World Dance and Social Dance finals, and read the books that I only kind of skimmed over so that I don’t totally bomb my Novel of Empire final. At least I don’t have to study for a final in my Jane Austen class (not that I would have anyway)– the teacher decided that we don’t have enough time to read Persuasion AND write our papers if we’re going to have a proper final, so rather than cut down on the book, he cut out the final. He said “I’d like to be able to say that I’m being extremely merciful to you, but actually, I realized that if you didn’t *take* a final, I wouldn’t have to *grade* a final.” So hip-hip-hooray. He also extended the paper deadline a week, so instead of having two papers due on the 14th and 15th, I have one due on the 14th and one due on the 21st. As usual, I’ve put off doing much on either of them until the last minute, so I’m also going to be reading a lot of crticism on Jane Austen (I’m doing my Novel of Empire paper on Mansfield Park as well). I also have to go to a Ballroom Dance Company concert and a Folk Dance company concert, on the 11th and the 12th.

All of this, and all I want to do is read fanfic and write fanfic. And maybe play in the nice weather.

Except we’re not really *having* nice weather at the moment. General Conference (for the LDS Church) is coming up this weekend, and, as usual, there weather’s turned nasty. It always turns nasty on Conference weekend. It’s not freezing, but it’s all cloudy and windy and threatening to rain.

Anyway, Lou, it’s a good thing that you’re having trouble with AP15, because I don’t think I’m going to be able to beta it until after graduation– which is April 25.

Obviously many people have been feeling the same way as me, as I’ve gotten depressingly few comments of late. I’ve even tried to make entries that people will comment on, and nothing. Are all you blog people boycotting me because I got an LJ?

I’ve got a lot of procrastinating ahead of me, though. I’ve got a bad case of Senioritis, it’s most obvious symptom being Spring Fever.

Sigh.

Not to worry Em, school comes first and 15 is no where near ready. If by some mirical I get it done and find everyone to impatient to wate for Editor beta. Barb has offered to pick up the slack while your in your finals.

The weather has been crazy, that’s for sure. When you get a whiteout, then sunny snow, with wind gusts of 70 mph…I would call that crazy. Although not as crazy as the hurricane I was in on Maui.

Oh…and by the way Em…you say you don’t get many comments? Did you read 3/27 yet…I see no response. Sooo. going to be at ladies night Saturday?

Hey Nicole– Yeah, I saw your comment. I haven’t even seen Derek since the day in question, and I’m not really likely to, so the point may be moot.

Yes, I’ll be at Ladies’ Night. I hope to see you and Rosie!
