Yay! Just got a confirmation e-mail from Nimbus. Turns out there were a couple of other proposals on the same topic, so they’d like to combine them into one 90-min panel. Some of the people are from California Baptist University. A Mormon and a Baptist. That’s going to be interesting.
Anyway, details soon. I’m at work and can’t post the text of the e-mail. They addressed it to Dr. Walker (but I entered my e-mail when I submitted, so it came to me), who isn’t actually attending the conference, so I hope they’re not too dissapointed that a Ph. D. isn’t going to be *on* the panel.
No word on the R/H vs. H/H debate panel, but I’m sure I’m in. There weren’t very many R/H’ers last time I checked.
Elizabeth: Every time you open a new comments window, it should re-submit the information to the server. However, if that isn’t working, try right-clicking in the comments window itself. The pop-up menu should have a “refresh” command, and you can manually refresh it that way. I’ll try and bug my brother into figuring out why you can’t see new comments, but in the meantime, that should work. I still want to redesign my site, but haven’t had time to mess around with templates.

Yea!
This is too cool. I also think the panel will be interesting to say the least. I sure hope California Baptist is different from SOUTHERN Baptist. Of course I do believe the Southern Baptists are still boycotting Disney so there’s not too much doubt that they are different.

Yeah, considering the Southern Baptists came to Utah a few years ago intent on converting us all from out cultist ways, that would be interesting, huh? They don’t even consider us Christian.

Hum…last time I checked the root of Christian, it was Christ. Now correct me if I’m wrong but seems to me Christ himself talked right with Joe Smith and thus the movement began. Bit simple of an explanation but I think it serves the point that you are Christian. And wouldn’t matter to me if you weren’t. The way you get to Heaven is your business and no one else’s. Now I’m sure the missionary factions of the Catholic church have just dammed me to hell but that’s between me and God and not them!!
Of course I should be congrating you on the panel and not flaming organized religion but I’m cranky and and need an out let. Need to let us know when day and time are set so we can be sure to be in the front row to heckle you!!!!! *tehe*
WHERE’S TWELVE???!!!

Working on it right now, Elizabeth. It’ll be up tonight.
Yeah on the Christian thing. It doesn’t matter to them that our official name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nope.
We don’t get it either.

What Eliz/Lou said {G}. I will admit to being raised Southern Baptist, but am a bit disenchanted with the denomination at the moment. (Don’t get me started). I will say this though: Not all Southern Baptist are bad; in fact most are pretty normal. Since this person is willing to present a paper, there is a good chance they are just as big a Harry Fan as we are. I hope.

I hope you don’t think my comments were directed strictly at Southern Baptists, Laura. It’s a rather commonly held belief among Protestant Christendom that we Mormons are not Christians.
I’m sure that the majority of Southern Baptists are just wonderful people. I know you are, for instance.
And we don’t even know if these particular Bapists are Southern ones. We were just speculating.

OH NO! That is not what I thought! I knew you were speculating. Me and my big mouth.
J.K. Rowling fans are cool, whoever they are {G}
