I mean, when you see ‘Levi’, it’s typically on an article of clothing on an ad for such, and everyone knows how it’s pronounced then. Yet, when it’s on a waiting room list, it’s suddenly pronounced levee. I don’t understand it, but I suspect it’s the same reason people want to mispronounce Bytheway.
