I had mixed feelings about the testing center. It was kind of nice to be able to take the test at my convenience, but it seemed to give my professors license to regularly produce 3-4 hour tests. There's no torture (in the realm of schooling, at least) quite so exquisite as waiting an hour in line to pick up a test that takes several hours to complete. Especially when it's a calculus or physics test. Talk about brain-frying.

Do you guys have testing centers at college? I hear that BYU's is kind of unique, but that many colleges are getting them now. Basically, a teacher sends a test to the Testing Center. They do everything for them-- score them, keep stats, etc. Usually the tests are scheduled so that you can take them on one of two or three days without paying money. Some teachers then schedule a "late day" with a $4.25 fee. The money goes back to the college, so it's beneficial to them, and it deters the students from taking it late. Considering my CQoP status, I've actually taken a surprisingly few tests on the late day. I'd rather not pay money. But sometimes teachers schedule tests on the worst possible days for me, and my only option is to take them late. I took my first Floral Design test late this semester.

My Austen teacher didn't schedule a late day-- some teachers don't, as a rule. So I can only take it on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sometimes I like it when teachers don't schedule late days, sometimes they would come in really handy. This is one of the times when it might come in handy.

But I think I can probably swing taking both tests on the same day.

Tell me why you have to pay 4.25$ to take a test ecause that confuses the heck out of me. Seems to me there is a little something called tuition that you pay to learn and if tests don't fall into the learning catagory then I'm really stumped!
